PORTLAND SUMMER: CLE lecture series each Wednesday in July
Hotter Than July CLE Speaker Series
Each Wednesday evening this July, UO law professors heat up Portland with CLE presentations at the UO Portland Center on hot topics of land use, the war on terror, and bankruptcy reform:
Times: 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M.
Location: University of Oregon Portland Center, 2nd and Yamhill downtown.
Cost: Each lecture costs $25 (UO law school alumni members) or $35 (non-members), payable in advance or at the presentation (lawyers will be given a CLE recordkeeping form at the lecture.)

Kelo v. New London: Property Rights or Economic Development?
Speaker Keith Aoki teaches intellectual property and Internet law. He practiced technology law with Hale and Dorr-Boston.

Government Power and Government Abuses: The War on Terror in the 21st Century
Speaker Margaret Paris teaches criminal law. She practiced at Cotsirilos, Stephenson, Tighe & Streicker-Chicago, specializing in the defense of white-collar prosecutions.
Wednesday July 20
The New Bankruptcy Law: Practice and Theory
Speaker Andrea Coles Bjerre teaches bankruptcy law. She practiced with the Wall Street firm Milbank Tweed.
Wednesday July 27
Measure 37: An Academic Perspective and Prediction on Key Issues
Speaker Steven Bender directs the law school’s Portland Programs. He publishes widely on real estate transactions and financing and practiced with Lewis and Roca-Phoenix.
