>Legal Research and Writing: It’s not your father’s LRW program! “We have terrific teachers, several who plan careers in legal research and writing, and we are trying to keep them longer,” says LRW program director Suzanne Rowe,”This will be big news to alumni who might have had a newbie teacher with a short-term attitude.”
>Indian Law Grant: Grande Ronde challenge gift kicks off fundraising for Oregon tribes professorship – “This is a marvelous gift and an inspiration to raise $300,000,” says major gifts officer Matt Roberts, “We will be reaching out to other tribes, law firms and school supporters.”
>Minding the Gap: LRAP aims to ease gap between public service salaries and high student debt. Artwork honoring Loan Repayment Assistance Program donors was unveiled at a November celebration. “We recognized Jackie Romm’s family for their generosity to students and honored the first recipients – a terrific evening!” said Associate Dean Jamie Moffitt.
>2006 Frohnmayer Award: Multnomah Circuit Court Judge Clifford Freeman ’76 “personifies the qualities of a good judge, a public servant, and a mentor, ” says Oregon Appeals Court Judge Ellen Rosenblum ’75. The April 21 award banquet is at the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland.
