Thursday, October 12       
7:30 P.M.,             LECTURE: Democracy Reborn
Room 175. Garrett Epps discusses his newest book on the Fourteenth Amendment and the fight for equal rights in post-Civil War America.

Epps is the Orlando John and Marian H. Hollis Professor of Law, a constitutional law scholar, and a former staff writer for the Washington Post. A booksigning and dessert reception follow the lecture. INFO: (541) 346-3865

Friday, October 13   
3:30 P.M. – 4:30 P.M.        PANEL: Crimes and Justice
Assistant Professor Joe Metcalfe, the law school’s director of clinics and externships, moderates a panel discussion with a judge, a litigator, and an FBI agent and investigator.

They will talk about the components of the criminal justice system, how these work together to achieve justice, and where the friction points lie. Panelists include:
The litigator
Michael D. Bradbury served for 24 years as Ventura County (CA) district attorney. He is now a partner with Weston Benshoof in Los Angeles, specializing in strategic evaluation, complex litigation, and white collar criminal defense.
The judge
Colleen Toy White, the new presiding judge of the Ventura County Superior Court, has served with the court for 12 years. During that time, she established the Dependency Drug Court, to help newborns exposed prenatally to drugs and alcohol, and the Pro Per Clinic, which assists litigants who represent themselves in family court.
The investigator
Gary Auer chief investigator for the Ventura County district attorney and a retired FBI supervisor, has been involved in a number of high-profile cases, including the search for the “Max Factor” rapist in 2003.

Morse Commons. Dean Margie Paris welcomes reunion classes 1961, 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981,1986, 1991, and 1996. The school will honor the 50th reunion of the Class of 1956 at 7:00 P.M.. Beer, wine and hearty hors d’oeuvres. Business casual dress.

Saturday, October 14
8:30 A.M.            RACE: Duck Dash 5K Run and Walk
Run or walk a 3 mile course through the UO campus. Race begins at Hayward Field and finishes in the law school courtyard.  Awards for the first male, female, and master winners. Ribbons to three-deep age division winners. Prize drawings. Sponsored by the law school and the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation in memory of law student Tom Foster. All proceeds benefit the Tom Foster Scholarship. Register and look over the course at goodrace.com

10:30 A.M.             TAILGATE
Law school courtyard. RSVP to (541) 346-3970. Tailgates being two hours before kickoff – check goducks.com for game schedule updates.

12:30 P.M.            KICKOFF: Ducks vs. Bruins
Autzen Stadium.  The University of Oregon plays UCLA.
12:30 P.M.            WALK
Meet in the courtyard after the tailgate and enjoy a walk along the bike path and through campus.

Classes will hold reunion dinners in a number of rooms at the Knight Law Center.

The law school rock band, The Garden Weasels, play Agate Hall, right up the street from the law school at 1787 Agate Street.
