Oct. 19 :’Faces and Faraway Places’ photography exhibit reception

Law school reception honors photographer Kristin Loya

A public reception will be held for photographer Kristin Loya on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in honor of her photography exhibit in the 2nd floor gallery of the Knight Law Center, 1515 Agate Street on the UO campus in Eugene.

Her show, entitled “Faces and Faraway Places,” features a collection of 25 color portraits and scenery photographs collected during a 16-month extended trip. Her photographs convey a sense of inner stillness, peace and tranquility that offer the viewer an inviting mix of intriguing characters and scenery.

The 2nd floor gallery is open during law library hours.

Loya, a native Oregonian, is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Parsons School of Design, both in New York City. An eager advocate of travel and living abroad, she has resided in Japan, France, Nepal, and Southeast Asia and speaks fluent Japanese.
