Professor Steven Bender to Present at Panel on Immigration Law January 3 in New York City

School of Law Professor Steven Bender will appear on a panel at the Society of American Law Teachers’ annual Robert M. Cover Study Group on Thursday, January 3, from 8-10 p.m. at the New York Sheraton.  The theme of the panel will be, “Humanizing the Consequences of Recent Immigration Law and Policy Initiatives: Raids, Detentions, and the Need to Protect Human Rights.”  Professor Bender’s talk is titled, “The Perils of Using Property-Based Tools Against Undocumented Immigrants.”  The other presenters include Raquel Aldana (University of Nevada-Las Vegas), Ruben Garcia (California Western School of Law), and Camille Nelson (St. Louis University School of Law).  The workshop will provide an opportunity not only to listen and discuss but also to organize efforts to work with others in the area.
