Oregon Law Alum Former Justice Edwin Peterson Awarded 2008 Frohnmayer Award
Former Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court and Oregon Law Alum, Edwin Peterson, will receive the 2008 Frohnmayer Award for Public Service at a banquet on Friday, April 4, at the Embassy Suites in Portland.
Justice Peterson served on the Oregon Supreme Court for more than a decade, as an associate justice from 1979 to 1993, and as chief justice from 1983 to 1991. While serving as chief justice he oversaw a major reorganization of the state’s judiciary system. Prior to joining the Supreme Court, he practiced law with Tooze, Kerr, Peterson, Marshall & Shenker, a Portland firm specializing in civil tort, insurance and business litigation from 1957 to 1979.
Justice Peterson, class of 1957, is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for professionalism, ethics, merit and service.
Cost for event is $95 per person and $1,300 for sponsorship of a table for 10. Online registration is available.
The Frohnmayer Award, awarded annually by the Oregon Law Alumni Association, recognizes a graduate, faculty member or friend of Oregon Law whose public service brings honor to the school.
