Commitment to Public Interest Law to be Celebrated March 19
A celebration of commitment to public interest law, “Public Interest Law at Work: Advancing Economic and Social Rights,” is scheduled Wednesday, March 19, from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Wayne Morse Commons at the Knight Law Center, 1515 Agate Street in Eugene, Ore.
The celebration is co-sponsored by Oregon Law’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) and the Public Interest Public Service Program (PIPS), and supported by the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics.
Catherine Albisa, executive director of the National Economic and Social Rights Initiative (NESRI) will give a public address at the event. Albisa is a constitutional and human rights lawyer and co-founder of NESRI. She partners with community organizers to strengthen human rights standards in the U.S.
