Public Service Day Scheduled on April 5

The fifth annual Public Service Day will be held Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Oregon Law faculty, staff, students and their families are invited to participate in the event by performing community service projects benefiting local organizations, including Friends of Buford Park and Mount Pisgah, FOOD for Lane County, Willamalane Park and Recreation District, Nearby Nature and Save the Pets. 

Public Service Day will begin with volunteers meeting at the Knight Law Center at 10 a.m. for brunch.  Afterwards, volunteers will disperse to work at service projects throughout the community.  Participating Oregon Law students may apply five Public Interest Public Service hours toward the Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund stipend requirement.  To register for this event, contact Juna Hickner.

The event is sponsored by Oregon Law student organization Public Interest Public Service.  The organization provides hosts academic lectures, symposia and discussions, and acts as a clearinghouse for public interest and service opportunities.
