Oregon Attorney General Hardy Myers and Justice Hans Linde to Speak at Oregon Law Review Banquet on April 11
The Oregon Law Review (OLR) is hosting its annual banquet on Friday, April 11, at the Eugene Hilton and Conference Center. Oregon Attorney General Hardy Myers and Justice Hans Linde will speak at the banquet, offering advice and inspiration to attendees. Also, an announcement of which student articles were selected for publication in the Review’s 2008-2009 volume will be made and writing and editing awards will be presented at the banquet.
Myers, Oregon Law alum and a former member of the OLR Board of Editors, practiced labor and employment law with Stoel Rives in Portland for more than 30 years. He was also a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 1975 to 1985, and Speaker of the House from 1979 to 1993. In 1997, Myers was elected Attorney General of Oregon, a position he has held for three terms.
Hans Linde is a retired Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court and former professor at Oregon Law in 1954, and from 1959 to 1976. He was also the recipient of the 2007 Frohnmayer Award for public service. Justice Linde was appointed to the Oregon Supreme Court in 1977 and was elected to the Court in 1978 and 1984. He currently serves as a distinguished scholar in residence at Willamette University College of Law.
Oregon Law Review was founded in 1921 and continues to be a leading contributor to the nation’s legal discourse. The journal has been consistently ranked among the nation’s top 50 most cited general interest legal journals.
