Director of Oregon Law Library Mary Ann Hyatt to Speak at Workshop for Law Librarians Held June 1-4
Mary Ann Hyatt, Director of Oregon’s John E. Jaqua Law Library, will speak at
the Association of American Law Schools’ Mid-Year Meeting Workshop for Law Librarians, “Changing Assumptions: The Role of the Law Librarian in the Legal Academy,” held June 1 to 4, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Hyatt will speak during the workshop, “Library Director: Response from the Next
Generation,” which evaluates the substance of the workshop and explores the direction
of future educational opportunities.
The workshop will highlight the many, sometimes conflicting, roles of the library
in legal education, open dialogue on faculty status for law library directors
and provide information on writing for tenure and teaching substantive courses.
The workshop will conclude with a panel discussion of the challenges of working
with law school deans and other university and law school administrators, and
cover topics focusing on the law library director as CEO.
