Domestic Violence Clinic to Co-Sponsor Free Continuing Legal Education Program July 11 at Klamath Falls Courthouse
Friday, July 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Domestic Violence Clinic will co-sponsor a free Continuing Legal Education program titled, “What You Don’t Know Can Hurt: Competently Representing Victims of Domestic Violence & Sexual Abuse in Civil Legal Matters.” Topics will include: Interviewing Clients to Uncover Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault; Barriers Clients Face Obtaining Legal Assistance; Providing Holistic Services to Survivors; Issue Spotting; Confidentiality and Child Abuse Reporting; and Resources for Lawyers and Clients. Participants will receive four general CLE credits, one ethics CLE credit, and one access to justice CLE credit. The event will be held downstairs at the Klamath Falls Courthouse.
In addition to the Clinic, the program will be co-sponsored by the Klamath Medical Services Bureau Foundation, Lane County Legal Aid and Advocacy Center, and Legal Aid Services of Oregon.
