Supreme Court Justice Virginia Linder to Keynote Symposium on Women and Politics October 3

The University of Oregon Women’s Law Forum and the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics are cosponsoring a symposium from 11:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, in Knight Law Center 175 titled “Elections Exposed: Women, Money and Politics.”

The symposium will explore the role private money plays in politics and its effects on female candidates.

The day’s keynote speech will be delivered by Supreme Court Justice Virginia Linder at 11:45 a.m. followed by a discussion panel at 1:15 p.m. featuring Joan Mandle, executive director of Democracy Matters; Barbara Garfien, campaign fundraising and management consultant; and Oregon State Senator Suzanne Bonamici. A reception will take place at the end of the discussion.
