Yale University Professor Stephen Skowronek to Discuss “The Many Meanings of Change” October 3

Yale University’s Pelatiah Perit Professor of Political and Social Science Stephen Skowronek will present “The Many Meanings of Change: Prospects for the Next President” at noon Friday, October 3, in McKenzie Hall 221. Professor Skowronek’s presentation is part of the “Critical Perspectives on the 2008 Elections” speaker series sponsored by the University of Oregon Department of Political Science and the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics.

The discussion will examine the prospects for change in the next presidential administration, how presidents change American politics, and what sorts of changes they make.

Professor Skowronek has written extensively on the development of American national institutions and on the history of the American presidency. His most recent book is Presidential Leadership in Political Time: Reprise and Reappraisal.
