Professors Carl Bjerre and Merle Weiner to Receive Oregon Community Credit Union Research Fellowships October 30
Oregon Law Professors Carl Bjerre and Merle Weiner will discuss their areas of focused research and study during the Oregon Community Credit Union Research Fellowships presentation and award reception from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, in the Heritage Hall of the Bowerman Building. Professors Bjerre and Weiner, along with Professor Anne Parmigiani from the Lundquist College of Business, were announced as award winners in April 2008.
Each year the Oregon Community Credit Union and the University of Oregon’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies provide three one-year $10,000 awards to faculty members whose research focus is closely aligned with that
year’s research topic. The program has a five-year cyclical schedule. The rotating schedule of focus topics is: Law and Business 2008; Connections with Communities and Society 2009; Natural and Physical Sciences 2010; Social Sciences 2011; Humanities, Performing and Fine Arts 2012. Faculty members decide to which cycle their research applies.
