Geography Professor Dan Gavin Presents November 13 ENR Fireside Conversation
The University of Oregon School of Law’s Environmental and Natural Resources Law Program, along with the University of Oregon’s Environmental Studies Program, continues its “Seeking Sustainable Solutions: A Series of Fireside Conversations on Global Warming 2008-09″ with a talk by Geography Professor Dan Gavin. Professor Gavin will discuss, “Abrupt Climate Change: Assessing its Impact on Forests and Wildfire from the Paleoecological Record.”
Professor Gavin is a faculty member on the Environmental Change Research Group and runs the university’s Paleoecology and Biogeography Laboratory, which uses interdisciplinary approaches to study the influence of natural disturbances and climatic change on forests.
The event takes place at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, at the Bowerman Center for Environmental Law located in Knight Law Center 225. It is free and open to all members of the university community.
