“The Legality” Nabs 100,000 Unique Visits

Oregon Law’s student-run online law journal, The Legality, surpassed 100,000 unique visits to its Web site this fall; having been in operation for just nine months. The journal now boasts 13 published articles, 189 subscribed RSS readers, and has received visitors from 148 of the world’s 195 countries.

The spike in Web site visits was aided in part by the journal’s October 16 article on the second-hand sales rights of promotional CD owners titled, “‘Damn The Man!’ The Ability To Sell Second-Hand CDs.” The immense popularity of the article drew more than 12,000 new visitors to The Legality, and was cited by such Internet powerhouses as BoingBoing.com and StumbleUpon.com.

Throughout the past nine months, The Legality has grown in both substance and staff. The 28 Oregon Law students who man the journal also supply content for the Web site’s Journal News, Logic Games, and Word of the Week sections.
