Oregon Law to Host Regional Round of the Texas Young Lawyers Association Trial Competition February 13-15
Oregon Law has been chosen to host the regional round of the TYLA National Trial Competition to be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, and all day on Saturday and Sunday, February 14-15. The event is co-sponsored by the Texas Young Lawyers Association (“TYLA”) and the American College of Trial Lawyers.
The National Trial Competition was established in 1975 to encourage and strengthen the advocacy skills of students through quality competitions and valuable interaction with members of the bench and bar. The program is designed to expose law students to the nature of trial practice and to serve as a supplement to their education.
The top two teams from each of the 14 regions will go on to compete at the national finals in San Antonio, Texas, March 25-28. Oregon Law will host the Region 12 round, which includes all participating law schools in Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming.
