Oregon Law Takes Eighth Straight Win in State Pro Bono Challenge

Oregon Law has once again reported the highest number of pro bono hours for calendar year 2008, earning the law school top honors for the eighth year in a row in the Oregon State Bar’s Annual Pro Bono Challenge. Oregon Law reported 8,517 hours.

In coordination with the Pro Bono Roll Call, the Oregon State Bar New Lawyers Division Pro Bono Subcommittee sponsors an annual Pro Bono Challenge. The challenge tallies the hours reported in the Volunteer Legal Representation category of the Pro Bono Roll Call. Winners are recognized for contributing the most hours in each challenge group: Law School, Law Student, Individual, Active Emeritus, Active Pro Bono, Solo Practitioner, and Law Firm (small, medium, and large).

Oregon Law has garnered top honors since the challenge’s inception in 2001.

The results for this year’s individual winners currently are being calculated. Oregon Law will report any law school winners as soon as those results are made available.
