Speaker Series on President Obama and the Politics of Reform Continues February 15
The Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics, with co-sponsorship from the UO Political Science Department, will continue its speaker series, “Great Expectations: Obama and the Politics of Reform,” with a presentation at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, in Knight Law Center 110.
Robin Jacobson, assistant professor of politics and government at the University of Puget Sound, will present “The Politics of Immigration Reform.”
Professor Jacobson received her Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in 2004. She teaches a range of courses in American politics including courses on race and ethnicity, social movements, and immigration politics. Her book, The New Nativism: Proposition 187 and the Debate over Immigration (University of Minnesota Press, 2008), explores the role of race in immigration restriction activities.
