Leonard Weinglass to Discuss the Case of the Cuban Five Today

Leonard Weinglass, a legendary figure of legal advocacy, will discuss the case of the Cuban Five at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, in Knight Law Center 175.

The case of the Cuban Five involves a group of Cuban intelligence officers charged with conspiracy to commit espionage and murder in Miami, Florida.

Weinglass has been involved in some of the nation’s most prominent legal cases involving issues of civil and human rights. His clients and cases have included: Abbie Hoffman, Tom Hayden, and Rennie Davis in the Chicago 8 Conspiracy Trial; The Pentagon Papers Trial in 1972; Jane Fonda’s suit against Richard Nixon; African American radical Angela Davis; Mumia Abu Jamal, African American journalist and death row inmate; Jimi Simmons, a Muckleshoot Indian facing the death penalty in Walla Walla, Washington; and Kathy Boudin, former Weather Underground member.
