Judge Jean Maurer to Present Discussion on Leadership and Civics April 12
Multnomah County Presiding Judge Jean Maurer will lead a discussion on leadership and civics with Oregon Law students spending their spring semester in Portland. The discussion will take place from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 12, in the Wayne Morse Suite at the University of Oregon in Portland.
Judge Maurer’s talk will be preceded and followed by a reception. RSVP to Professor Steven Bender as space is limited.
Judge Maurer began her tenure as presiding judge for Multnomah County in January 2008. She has worked on a wide variety of misdemeanor and felony cases throughout her career, perhaps the most memorable involving former Olympic ice skater Tonya Harding. Judge Maurer is a member of the Oregon State Bar, the California State Bar, the Multnomah Bar Association, and Oregon Women Lawyers. She is also admitted in the United States District Court in Oregon.
