Rachael Kim is 2009-10 Outstanding Student in Law and Entrepreneurship

Professor Barbara Aldave, director of Oregon Law’s Center for Law and Entrepreneurship, recently named third-year student Rachael Kim the 2009-10 Outstanding Student in Law and Entrepreneurship. Rachael will receive a check in the amount of $1,000 and her name will be inscribed on a plaque permanently installed in the center.

Rachael earned her undergraduate degree from Seattle University, where she majored in business administration, with an emphasis on management and international business. She spent three years working for two Seattle-based international companies before coming to Oregon Law. She currently serves as co-chair of the Law and Entrepreneurship Student Association.

Director of the Small Business Clinic Jill Fetherstonhaugh, who supervised Rachael in the clinic, says that she “exhibited exceptional drafting skills, worked extremely hard on client matters — and otherwise performed at an extremely high level both professionally and personally — Rachael is going to be an exceptional lawyer.”

Rachael plans to take the bar examinations in both Washington and Oregon, and plans to first complete a judicial clerkship before seeking employment as a business lawyer in the Seattle area.

The Outstanding Student in Law and Entrepreneurship Award will be presented to Rachael on the afternoon of Friday, April 30, at a reception in the Chambers Center for Law and Entrepreneurship.
