Oregon Law Welcomes Assistant Professor Michael Fakhri
Oregon Law is pleased to welcome new Assistant Professor Michael Fakhri to the faculty.
Professor Fakhri received his LL.B. from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, his LL.M. from Harvard Law School, and currently is an S.J.D. candidate (doctorate of law) at the University of Toronto. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, Professor Fakhri began his legal career with one of Canada’s leading business law firms, later shifting to a practice in social justice advocacy.
Professor Fakhri’s academic interests are in international economic law with an emphasis on questions of development. His most recent work is a historical examination of the sugar trade and its relationship to the creation of multilateral trade institutions. Other research interests of his include trade and development in the Middle East, public international law, international legal theory and history, and law and globalization.
