Oregon Law Welcomes Visiting Professor Steve Macias

Oregon Law is pleased to welcome Steve Macias, a teaching fellow at California Western School of Law, as a visiting professor for the 2010-11 academic year. Professor Macias earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, his LL.M. from University College London, and currently is completing his dissertation in history at UC Berkeley, titled The Creation of Legal Science in the Early American Republic. Professor Steve Macias

Professor Macias’ research interests include 19th century Anglo-American political and legal thought; the history of utilitarianism and pragmatism; and the analysis of legal institutions concerning domestic relations, families, and children from a pragmatic perspective. His teaching interests include American and English Legal History, Constitutional Law and Federal Courts, Procedure, and Sexuality and the Law.

Professor Macias will teach Remedies, Legal History, Law & Sexuality, and Privacy Law.
