Wayne Morse Center to Host Welcome Reception September 30
The Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics will host a welcome reception and kickoff party Thursday, September 30, from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m. in the Lewis Lounge, located on the fourth floor of the Knight Law Center.
As the center embarks on its second of a two-year inquiry into the theme, “Climate Ethics and Climate Equity,” reception attendees will have the opportunity to meet the center’s 2010-11 resident scholars, project grant recipients from the community, members of the Advisory Board and steering committees, Wayne Morse Fellows, and University of Oregon faculty and students.
This year, the Wayne Morse Center welcomes environmental justice scholar Maxine Burkett, who will hold the Wayne Morse Chair during the fall semester, and Dr. Vandana Shiva, a food justice activist, who will hold the chair during the 2011 winter term.
Those planning to attend the reception should RSVP via email or call 541-346-3699.
