Five Oregon Law Alumni Named ‘Up & Coming Lawyers’
Five University of Oregon School of Law alumni are among the 25 honorees who will be recognized at the Daily Journal of Commerce‘s inaugural “Up & Coming Lawyers 2010″ event from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the University Club of Portland.
Kaye Hyde-Patton ’02, Shawn Menashe ’03, Kristin Olson ’02, David Eder ’05 and Monica Wells ’03 are being recognized for demonstrating commitment to the legal profession early in their careers, staying active in professional organizations, giving back to their communities, and emerging as leaders in their field.
Hyde-Patton is an attorney with Leahy, Van Vactor & Cox in Springfield; Menashe is a shareholder at Gevurtz Menashe in Portland; Olson and Wells are associates at Bullivant Houser Bailey’s Portland office; and Eder is an attorney for the City of Beaverton.
Industry professional judges selected the honorees from a total of 93 nominations. Only legal professionals admitted to the Oregon State Bar from 2000 to 2010 were considered.
Dean Margie Paris said this honor reflects Oregon Law’s tradition of educating not just future lawyers, but future leaders.
“Oregon Law’s graduates are known for their participation within their communities and professional organizations,” Paris said. “We are proud that so many of our recent graduates are being recognized for their desire to better themselves, their profession, and their world.”
