Noted Journalist Rick Perlstein to Present ‘The Tea Parties Today’ October 20

Noted historian and journalist Rick Perlstein will present “The Tea Parties Today” as part of the 2010-11 Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics Public Affairs Speaker Series. Perlstein’s presentation will take place at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, in Knight Law Center 175.

Mr. Perlstein is a contributor to Newsweek and a former writer for The Village Voice and The New Republic. Until March 2009, he was a senior fellow at the Campaign for America’s Future, where he wrote for the organization’s blog. He is the author of Before the Storm: Barry Goldwater and the Unmaking of the American Consensus (2001), which won the 2001 Los Angeles Times Book Prize for History, and Nixonland: The Rise of a President and the Fracturing of America (2008). Nixonland was a 2008 Best Book selection by The Economist, Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, The Christian Science Monitor, NPR.org, Entertainment Weekly, and The Washington Post.
