Master’s degree student Tina Gutierez-Schmich to be honored at 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Ceremony

Conflict and Dispute Resolution master’s degree student Tina Gutierez-Schmich is among four recipients of the University of Oregon’s 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award. Gutierez-Schmich will be honored at the annual awards ceremony from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Gerlinger Lounge.

The UO Martin Luther King Jr. Award was established to honor often under-recognized classified staff whose various activities and achievements represent consistent efforts to make this campus a welcoming place for all to live, work and learn. The award also recognizes university faculty and officers of administration whose contributions to the campus community, beyond typical job expectations, also uphold and exemplify ideals supported by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The awards ceremony is open to the university community. No RSVP is required.
