Law Library exhibits Lane County courtroom drawings

Notorious 1980s and 1990s sketches on display

An exhibit of courtroom drawings from some of the most notorious Lane Country trials of the 1980s and 1990s are on display in the University of Oregon School of Law’s John E. Jaqua Law Library.

“Inside the Courtroom — An Artist’s Perspective: Trials from Lane County, 1981-1989,” contains images from famous Lane County cases such as the Diane Downs murder trial, the Barbara Harris murder trial, and the official misconduct trial of former Lane County Commissioner Robert “Bob” Wood. Downs, Oregon’s notorious child-killer was recently denied parole in December 2010 in her second parole hearing and is not eligible for another 10 years. The pieces were given as a gift to the law library.
