Liz Holsapple is 2010-11 Outstanding Student in Law and Entrepreneurship
Professor Barbara Aldave, director of Oregon Law’s Center for Law and Entrepreneurship, recently named third-year student Elizabeth “Liz” Holsapple the 2010-11 Outstanding Student in Law and Entrepreneurship. Holsapple will receive a check in the amount of $1,000 and her name will be inscribed on a plaque permanently installed in the center.
Ms. Holsapple is actively involved in many organizations in the field of law and entrepreneurship business throughout campus. She is a board member for the Law and Entrepreneurship Student Association (LESA), she advised two small businesses through the Small Business Clinic, and recently competed in the National Transaction Moot Court Competition in Philadelphia. With her extraordinary capacity for leadership and excellent initiatives, Holsapple has participated in numerous contests, winning third place in the 2009 University of Oregon Venture Quest Business Plan Competition, which exhibited her as a true academician and an innovative leader.
During her final semester, Holsapple is interning at Slinde Nelson & Du Val, a business law firm and business incubator in Portland, where she continues to hone her drafting and negotiating skills in preparation for providing excellent legal counsel to new and emerging businesses.
In one of the nomination letters for this prestigious award, Holsapple is described as exhibiting a strong commitment to the law “professional and academic experience demonstrates a strong commitment to law entrepreneurship that is the ideal foundation for a business law attorney.”
