Law students advance to American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition Nationals
The University of Oregon School of Law congratulates Matt Heintz, Sam Whalen, Michelle Peterson, and Brian Loftus on their accomplishments at the American Bar Association’s Student Division Negotiation Regional Competition. The regional competition hosted twelve North American law schools. Heintz and Whalen were the overall champions of the competition and will represent the Oregon Law at nationals in New Orleans in Feb. 2012.
The Negotiation Competition aims to help students practice and improve negotiating skills. Each round consists of a simulation of legal negotiations, each session of which has a predetermined time limit, where students act as lawyers and negotiate a series of legal problems. The negotiations consist of the same general topic and each situation varies with each level of competition.
