Students and Alumni receive Pro Bono and OLSPIF awards

On Wednesday, April 11, the Pro Bono Board and Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund presented their annual recognition ceremony, honoring students and a community members for outstanding pro bono and public service contributions. Chas Horner ’08, Legal Aid Services of Lane County, delivered an inspiring keynote speech, with Professor Tom Lininger and Oregon Law Dean Michael Moffitt adding remarks.

The following received awards:

OLSPIF Awards:
Bandiero Award for Outstanding Public Service by a local lawyer: Mike Quillin ’08, Stop Violence Against Women Project, Lane County Legal Aid
Hitchcock-Kenna Award for Outstanding Public Service by a law student: Cassie Champion, 3L

Pro Bono Awards:
Nicole Richardson Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award ($1000 award): Shelley Aschenbrenner, 3L; Bryan Boender, 3L
Outstanding Pro Bono Service 2L: Joshua Eastman (400 hours) U.S. District Court,
Outstanding Pro Bono Service 3L: Vannia Glasinovic (620 hours) Centro LatinoAmericano
