United States Army Commissions Law Student Andrae Washington
The United States Army recently commissioned University of Oregon School of Law student Andrae Washington as a civil affairs officer specializing in cultural affairs and infrastructure development. The commissioning event took place on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in the Law School’s Lewis Lounge.
Washington is a third-year law student. He is primarily interested in environmental legislation and sustainable development. Throughout his time as a law student, Washington has clerked for the United Nations in Den Haag, U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley and the Bonneville Power Administration in Portland. In addition, Washington focused on his fellowship research, which is a study of why federal legislation has failed to adequately address climate change. Outside of school, Washington enjoys running, orienteering in the woods and target shooting.
Oregon Law congratulates Washington on his commission.
