‘Balancing Energy and the Environment’ on Oct. 5
The Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation (JELL) at the University of Oregon School of Law will delve into the delicate balance of energy policy and environmental policy during its annual symposium on Saturday, Oct. 5.
"Balancing Energy and the Environment: Examining Trends in the Production and Regulation of Electricity" will take place at the Knight Law Center, 1515 Agate St. in Eugene. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m, and opening remarks begin at 9:30 a.m.
The event is cosponsored by the law school's Environmental and Natural Resources Law Center, Green Business Initiative Student Association and Native American Law Student Association. The symposium's presenters will discuss wave energy on the Oregon coast, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission hydropower project relicensing and dam removal.
JELL has provided a national, unbiased forum for the discussion and presentation of new ideas and theories in environmental and natural resources law since 1985. JELL educates students for careers in environmental law, disseminates important information to the environmental community and plays an integral role at the School of Law's nationally and internationally recognized Environmental and Natural Resources Law program.
