The Law and Entrepreneurship Student Association (LESA) is presenting a panel discussion with several Oregon in-house counsel attorneys. Each lawyer will compare and contrast in-house counsel roles from private law firm life, and explain how their career paths led them to in-house counsel positions. All students are welcome. Students interested in business law, corporate law, international law, intellectual property, and the in-house counsel role are especially encouraged to attend. Featuring economist Jared Bernstein. Currently a senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, from 2009 to 2011 Jared served as economic advisor to Vice President Joe Biden, executive director of the White House Task Force on the Middle Class and member of President Obama’s economic team.
Bernstein’s writings appear in The New York Times and The Washington Post, and he is a frequent guest on CNBC and MSNBC.

Mark C. Hackett is the CEO and Executive Director of Operation Broken Silence, a human rights organization that specializes in using multimedia tools to end mass atrocity crimes. His work has been featured by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, and other prominent new outlets and organizations. He has testified to the United States Congress multiple times concerning the crisis in Sudan.
Mark is also creator of the recent documentary film Across the Frontlines: Ending the Nuba Genocide.
