Mark C. Hackett is the CEO and Executive Director of Operation Broken Silence, a human rights organization that specializes in using multimedia tools to end mass atrocity crimes. His work has been featured by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, and other prominent new outlets and organizations. He has testified to the United States Congress multiple times concerning the crisis in Sudan.

Mark is also creator of the recent documentary film Across the Frontlines: Ending the Nuba Genocide.

The Fair Housing Council of Oregon offers a complimentary, 6-hour class on the details of federally required Design & Construction (D&C) requirements under the Fair Housing Act (FHA). Cosponsored by the University of Oregon School of Law Pro Bono Board.

The training will address Federal Fair Housing Act ADA requirements for multifamily housing – apartment buildings and condos constructed since 1991 - minimum accessibility standards. Learn about the appropriate slopes, turn radiuses, and much, much more.

Law and the Egyptian Revolution

Professor Fakhri will discuss the relationship between international law and the Egyptian revolution based on his experiences at a workshop in Egypt last September. While within Egypt ideas about law have been playing a prominent role both in revolutionary demands and counterrevolutionary tactics. What remains under-examined is how international law structured the conditions that led up to the uprisings and how it may structure future possibilities.

The Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund ("OLSPIF") is a student group that raises funds for stipends for law students accepting public service positions that otherwise would not be paid. Students represent children, migrant farmworkers, domestic violence survivors and the like. The OLSPIF Auction is a lively and spirited event that includes the larger legal community, alumni, judges, law students, professors and others in an evening of good food and competitive bidding in both live and silent auction venues.
