Diversity fellowships provide excellent (but rare) opportunities for 1L students to secure a summer position with a large law firm. Recruiting personnel from Portland firms will discuss what they look for in diversity fellowship applicants. Dollarocracy: The Money and Media Election Complex That is Destroying America

University of Illinois professor Robert W. McChesney and The Nation correspondent John Nichols are the authors of Dollarocracy: The Money and Media Election Complex That is Destroying America.

In addition to Dollarocracy, McChesney and Nichols have written four other books together and co-founded the Free Press, a national network dedicated to media reform.

Law Students for Reproductive Justice presents their Annual Sex Ed Trivia Night! Students will be quizzed for four rounds on their knowledge of sexual health and reproduction.
LSRJ board members will also enlighten attendees on the disparities and inefficiencies in current Sexual Health Education in schools.

Dr. Hugo Slim visits Oregon as the 2013-14 Savage Professor of International Relations and Peace. Dr. Slim is a Senior Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict at the University of Oxford where he leads research on humanitarian ethics. He has been a board member of Oxfam GB, an International Advisor to the British Red Cross, and is currently on the board of the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD). He worked for Save the Children and the United Nations, and has authored many articles and four books.
