The Community 5K run benefits Oregon Law's Tom Foster Environmental Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is in remembrance of Thomas Foster III, who was a third-year law student at the time of his death in 1999. The scholarship is awarded to a third year Oregon law student who possesses the character traits of Tom Foster – integrity, honesty, passion, humor, motivation, dedication to the law school, and search for knowledge. A portion of your Eugene 5K entry goes directly to the Tom Foster Environmental Scholarship Fund.

Third event in the Wayne Morse Center Migration Project's 2012-13 speaker series "The Borders Within: Immigrants, Race, and the Politics of Surveillance and Enforcement in the United States." We will examine emerging geographies of policing immigrant and "ethnic" lives in the contemporary United States, exploring how these processes are shaped by race, class and broader geopolitical narratives, as well as how these policing efforts are shaping immigrant lives and experiences.

ACLU's Know Your Rights: When Interacting With Law Enforcement

Co-sponsored by the undergraduate UO Mock Trial Team and the local ACLU Lane County Chapter Board this event seeks to educate the public about their rights when interacting with law enforcement. The structure of the event will begin with a brief presentation followed by panel discussion involving recent city legislation regarding house parties and end with a Q&A session.

Bar Exam Bootcamp

Professors Tippett and Frost will be leading a bar exam bootcamp for students and alumni on May 15 from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The morning will include an overall plan of attack for studying, and strategies for the multi-state. 1:00 - 2:30 will be devoted to strategies for responding to essay questions (all state bars), and 2:30 - 4:00 will be devoted to study strategies for the performance test (California and Oregon). Pizza, drinks and snacks provided!
