For this year's annual Constitution Day presentation, panelists David Frohnmayer, Ofer Raban, and Dan Tichenor of the University of Oregon will reflect on some of the Constitutional issues raised by the United States' "War on Terror," including the recent Wikileaks and National Security Agency leak scandals, and the evolution of presidential powers in the name of national security.

Please join us for an informational forum to discuss contract bargaining for both SEIU and UA, the staff and faculty unions on campus, and the scheduled strike.

Speakers include: Mike Tedesco (Adjunct Professor), Margaret Hallock (Director, Wayne Morse Center), Kurt Willcox (SEIU bargaining rep), Ben Farrell (law library staff, SEIU member), Daniel Hosang (Associate Professor, UA bargaining rep), and Sam Dotters-Katz (ASUO President).

Networking 101 & Speed Networking Session

The ability to connect with your fellow law students, attorneys, judges, and other professionals is a critical part of your professional success in law school and beyond. But how do you acquire strong networking skills? Practice, practice, practice.

Get practical tips and advice on developing your networking abilities and gain practice by engaging in speed networking. You must RSVP to attend. There are a limited number of spaces; We will be compiling a wait-list and notifying students as space becomes available. The itinerary for the event is:

5:00 5:45 Networking 101 (presented by members of the Oregon State Bar)
5:45 7:00 Reception and Speed Networking (six 10-minute sessions with local attorneys)

To participate in the speed networking portion, you need to also attend the Networking 101 panel. Registration for both events opens on Thursday, September 12, at 5:00 p.m.; At that time, log in to Symplicity and select the "Events" tab.

This event is co-sponsored by the Oregon State Bar Quality of Life Committee, Phi Alpha Delta (PAD), and the Center for Career Planning and Professional Development.
