October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the Women's Law Forum is teaming up with the ASUO's Women's Center for their annual toiletry drive! The toiletries will be donated to Womenspace - a local organization that provides domestic violence services (see URL for more information).
The Women's Law Forum will be tabling with bins for the toiletries from 12:30 - 1:30 in the commons, Monday through Friday, for two weeks only.
This year's competition for the most toiletries will be between the 1L's green, yellow, and blue sections.

Mercy Corps Practitioners Lorina McAdam and Noor Rafiq Zangana will spend seven weeks in residence at Oregon Law this fall. They will link practice with research and theory-building while sharing their firsthand experience from complex conflict situations around the globe.
McAdam recently served a four-year post as country director in the Democratic of the Congo. She has 13 years experience in international development.
Zangana is deputy program manager of SEAM, which supports effective advocacy for marginalized groups in her native Iraq.

Bring your lunch and come hear about Sidney Ottem's experience and how it can benefit your own interest in Natural Resource Law. Sidney Ottem is Acting Director for Administration, Office of the Solicitor, Department of the Interior; he was also the Deputy Regional Solicitor, Southwest Region. He previously served as Court Commissioner for the Aquavella stream adjudication, Yakima County Superior Court, and was a judicial representative on the Water Disputes Task Force and a member of Dividing the Waters, an organization ofjudges/masters overseeing stream adjudications.
