Writing the Oregon Story: Tom McCall and Oregon's Environmental Legacy

As Oregon's governor from 1967 to 1975, Tom McCall had a lasting impact on Oregon's environment: developing the land use system, fighting to retain public ownership of Oregon's coastline, and cleaning up the polluted Willamette River. An independent Republican and former journalist, Tom McCall captured the state's independent spirit as he fought to protect its pristine features.

The ENR Center's Global Environmental Democracy Project and Land Air Water presents OPB's "Oregon Experience: Tom McCall," with an introduction by Dave Frohnmayer.

Adell Amos, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, and a panel of faculty members will provide information to help you choose your class schedule for the 2013-2014 academic year. Topics include: course sequencing; subject areas; skills courses, writing courses, and courses that cover bar exam subject areas. Students will also have time to ask questions at the conclusion of the session.

Trailblazing in the Modern Legal Era: A Tribute to Judge Helen Frye

Trailblazing in the Modern Legal Era: A Tribute to Judge Helen Frye is a celebration of pioneering women in the legal profession. The event will be held at the University of Oregon School of Law and will center on the unveiling of a portrait of Judge Helen Frye, the first woman to serve on the federal court in Oregon. Lunch, included in the $15 registration fee, will feature a special tribute dessert hosted by Lane County Women Lawyers; CLE credit is being applied for and will also be included. Oregon Law students are encouraged to participate and may attend for free.
