Join us! We'll cover the myriad acronyms related to the exam, including the MPRE, the MBE, the MEE, the MPT and the UBE, as well as bar loans, and the bar certification process. The overview will be useful regardless of the state in which you plan to sit for the bar. Kateri Walsh from the Oregon State Bar New Lawyers Program will also be on hand to talk with you about the bar's mentoring program for new lawyers.

Oregon Law Student Public Interest Fund Auction

The Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund (“OLSPIF”) is a student run organization that raises money for summer stipends for Oregon Law students to work in otherwise unpaid public interest positions. OLSPIF-funded students assist juveniles aging out of foster care, migrant farm workers, domestic violence survivors, the elderly poor and many more! Last year, the OLSPIF auction raised record funds and awarded a record sixteen public service stipends!

Interested in work-study funding this summer? Eligible 1Ls and 2Ls with qualifying positions can earn work-study this summer, including pre-earning 2014-2015 money, and may qualify for a work-study increase. Students must attend one of two work-study workshops. A Financial Aid work-study specialist will be on hand to answer questions.

Ivy, recently retired Cultural Resources Program Coordinator and Tribal Historic Preservation Officer of the Coquille Tribe, will meet with President Gottfredson’s Executive Leadership Team, lecture in classes, meet with students, faculty and staff and give a public address, “Native Activism, Law and Land Issues,” co-moderated with Dr. Madonna Moss (Anthropology) and Dr. Brian Klopotek (Ethnic Studies).
