National Tribal Court Summer Clerkship Program
Most tribal courts lack the necessary funding for a professional law clerk with a JD. But externships (for academic credit) and internships allow law students to serve as tribal court law clerks during the summer. The University of Colorado Law School manages the National Tribal Court Law Clerk Program website, which lists tribal courts that are accepting applications for summer. Go to http://lawweb.colorado.edu/ilc_clerkships and check the database for listings, including the Latgawa Native American Indian Tribal Court in Medford, Oregon, and for updates throughout the spring. You will apply directly to the judges, not through the website.
