New Systems to Improve Your Job Search Experiences and Results

We are excited to announce a few developments in our office. These changes will help you access our resources conveniently and will help us be efficient and effective. We’ll provide more information about these exciting changes soon. Some of these developments will affect you now, so please take note:

  • Increased use of Symplicity. Sign-ups for counseling appointments are now online through Symplicity. Starting this fall, you will also RSVP for our programs and workshops through Symplicity. And we have started using Symplicity’s calendar feature to schedule career planning and professional development events; check it out when you have a chance.
  • Annual review of resumes and cover letters. Starting July 1, a rising 2L or 3L wishing to apply for jobs through Symplicity will submit her resume and a cover letter to a career counselor for an annual review. The student and career counselor will work together to improve those materials. At the conclusion of that process, the student will be able to apply for jobs through Symplicity. We are adding this service to help you get employers’ positive attention with your written materials. Plan ahead. Start preparing your materials early so that you have time to submit them to us and revise them before the employers’ deadlines.
