ANNUAL REVIEW: A New Way for the Career Center to Help You Reach Your Goals
Published in the November 15, 2011, Advisor
The Career Center has launched a new program to help you put your best foot forward each time you apply for a professional opportunity. Starting this year, we will review all students’ job search materials at least once a year, and we will offer you individualized feedback based on the comments we commonly hear from employers.
This fall, we reviewed all student OCI submissions, and employers told us that our students’ applications never looked better. Indeed, many students thanked us for helping them secure employers’ positive attention through organized, concise, and sharp written materials. We look forward to helping all students make their materials more persuasive through our new annual review program.
The process is simple. At some point before your spring deadline (see schedule below), you will upload your resume and a cover letter onto Symplicity for approval by a career counselor. Those of you who have done this already by applying for a position through Symplicity in 2011-2012 do not need to do anything else. Students who have not had documents approved by the Career Center since August 1, 2011, should upload a resume and cover letter by the applicable date below. Once we approve your materials, we will check you off our list.
