Judge Rasmussen was appointed to the Lane County Courthouse in 1999. He is the court's civil motion judge and is one of two members of the Second Judicial District Commercial Court, where he handles complex commercial matters. Prior to joining the Circuit Court, Rasmussen practiced in the area of civil litigation for sixteen years throughout the state. He served in the Oregon State Senate from 1993 to 1995. Judge Rasmussen recently completed a two-year term as President of the Oregon Circuit Court Judges Association.
