'Climate Policy: What if Politics Fails Us?' Discussion to Take Place October 22

The Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics will host a roundtable discussion on climate change policy featuring scholars Jim McCarthy, Dale Jamieson, and Mary Wood, at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, October 22, in Knight Law Center 110.

The discussion will seek to answer such questions as:

  • What are the prospects for international climate agreements?
  • What can be done if the political process stalls? Can law or science lead the way?
  • What is the role of activists?
  • Professor Jim McCarthy is a Harvard University climate scientist and climate policy activist serving as the Wayne Morse Center's visiting distinguished scholar.

    Professor Dale Jamieson is a New York University philosophy and environmental studies professor and the 2009-10 Wayne Morse Chair.

    Professor Mary Wood is the faculty director for Oregon Law's Environmental and Natural Resources Law Program.
