Basic mediation training
Learn basic facilitative mediation training with trainers Jane Gordon,
director of the law schools Appropriate Dispute Resolution Center,
Annie Bentz, director of the UOs Conflict Resolution Services, and
Anita Engiles, Oregons mediator of the year in 2001. The focus of the
multi-day workshop is on communication, uncovering disputants'
interests, and helping participants find their own solutions.
Those who complete the training will be prepared to work in a mediation
setting, or with a little additional training, in small claims court or
a restorative justice program. INFO

the idea of cultural competency with the UO community through a town
hall conversation, panels and presentations. On Friday, law avcademic dean Susan Gary will speak on a panel on diversity planning at the
university level ( 1:45 P.M., Room 141) and law professor Ibrahim
Gassama will participate in the panel, Preparing Global Citizens
( 3:30 P.M., Room 141). Sponsored by the Center on Diversity
and Community (CODAC). The law school is one of the cosponsors.

EXHIBIT OPENING: Marquee Massacres
Jacobs Gallery, Hult Center for the Performing Arts, 6th and Willamette
in downtown Eugene. See the portrayal of Native Americans in 100 years
of rare movie posters and motion picture graphics, curated by law
professor Rennard Strickland. Strickland is the author of the essay,
Tontos Revenge or Who is that Seminole in the Sioux War Bonnet? The
Cinematic Indian! Sponsored by the Wayne Morse Center. The exhibit
