Faraway Places
Native Oregonian Kristin Loya has lived and traveled in Japan, France,
Nepal and Southeast Asia. See those people and places through the lens
of her camera at a free photography exhibit at the
University of Oregon School of Law.
Twenty-five brilliantly colored photographs
were edited down from 8,000 images taken on a recent
sixteen-month journey. They are on
display in the second floor gallery of the Knight Law Center, 1515
Agate Street, across from Hayward Field on the UO campus in
Eugene.
The gallery area is open seven days a week, during law library hours .Visitors must
sign in with the building concierge after 6 p.m.
"I
have been drawing, painting and taking pictures since I was a child,"
Loya said. "I am fascinated by languages and cultures, colors,
textiles, and patterns. And I love to travel!"
Loya graduated from the Fashion Institute of
Technology (FIT) and
Parsons School of Design in New York. Earlier, she took classes
in art and photography at the University of Oregon and Lane Community
College.
Her work has been shown in New York and Japan. She lives and works in New York.
