Senate committee discusses statewide limits on workplace smoking 

 
The Oregon State Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a public hearing to discuss statewide limits on workplace smoking on Friday, February 16 at the University of Oregon School of Law in Eugene.

The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Room 175 of the Knight Law Center, 1515 Agate Street on the UO campus.

Three smoking limitation bills have been introduced this year in the Oregon senate.

Senate Bill 571, a comprehensive smoke-free workplace law was introduced by Sen. Bill Morrissette (D-Springfield).  Senate Bill 354 also concerns workplace smoking and SB 419 expands the ban to include bars and taverns.

The committee is chaired by Sen. Ginny Burdick (D-Portland). Sen. Roger Beyer ( R-Molalla) is vice chair. The members are Jeff Kruse (R-Roseburg), Floyd Prozanski (D-Eugene) and Vicki Walker (D-Eugene.)
